Mr. Peanutbutter starts to say they should set a date for the wedding but he is interrupted by Pickles telling him about the job opportunity with Joey Pogo. Showing he isn't oblivious to how BoJack treats him, he questions why BoJack doesn't like him. Pickles and Joey then argue about who's at fault. Sometime later, Mr. Peanutbutter, Princess Carolyn, and Karen Kitada are in a meeting with Pinky Penguin trying to pitch Birthday Dad as a TV show and Pinky Penguin takes it. However, she tells him to keep her away from any mummies due to a traumatic incident from her past. Fritz escapes by jumping out the window. Mr. Peanutbutter asks what his plans are once he gets out. Eventually, he goes back to the upstairs bedroom not noticing BoJack, Ruthie, Princess Carolyn or Diane, and asks Pickles if she wants whip cream with her drink, not realizing that Pickles was actually in the bathroom and wearing headphones. BoJack explains these are the clothes he went in with and didn't realize he would be going to a wedding in a year. They get interrupted by Pickles again and this causes Diane to react harshly. A flashback shows Mr. Peanutbutter and Pickles telling a man named Carl that since Mr. Peanutbutter cheated on Pickles with his ex-wife, Pickles has to have sex with Carl to level the playing field. He's glad he knows she hates parties and they won't ever have that argument ever again. However, it's caused some problems, because they're starting to rate drivers on how attractive they are. While their relationship seemed to be going well at the start, it soon took on a rather toxic dynamic and Diane realized her marriage to Mr. Peanutbutter wasn't meeting her expectations. She runs into BoJack, and the two are tense around each other now due to the submarine scene Diane wrote for BoJack in the previous episode. He attends the wedding without incident, and Mr. Peanutbutter and Diane get married after seven years of dating. Mr. Peanutbutter says she didn't, and that he loves her and wants to know the real her. Mr. Peauntbutter responds that the best years of her life are happening now and BoJack says the joke's on him because he couldn't even waste the correct best years of her life. They hear the doorbell ring. He also informs BoJack he's not nominated for an Oscar. Diane mentions the divorce papers but gets interrupted by the waitress, an excitable pug lady named Pickles, who gets along with Mr. Peanutbutter. Mr. Peanutbutter and a few crew members then pull BoJack off of her. The two eventually started dating, and by 2009 Diane moved in with him. Either Diane refused to take Mr Peanutbutter's money because she wants to be independent and would see it as a sign of weakness or she wanted to be able to maintain a good relationship with him afterwards and felt that if he had to send her a check every month, that wasn't going to happen. Mr. Peanutbutter and Diane split up. Todd tries unsuccessfully to reach Mr. Peanutbutter, so Todd and the Orcas head over to the latter's house to get the strainers.
